The municipality of Sant Mateu de Bages is considered the largest in the province, a fact that multiplies its tourist offer.

The Castelltallat mountain range offers numerous mountain biking and hiking routes, a place where nature coexists with areas of great heritage interest. Examples include fossil sites, ancient Visigothic tombs, hermitages and Romanesque churches such as Sant Joan de Coaner, as well as castles and monumental complexes.

The Sierra also has a special orography that makes the Castelltallat Observatory one of the best astronomical observation points in the country.
